Carnet de voyage en Corse Jour 6 / Travel sketchbook in Corsica Day 6

Une journée de stage à la forêt de l'Ospédale pour cette 6e journée. En y allant, nous nous sommes arrêtées au Lac de l'Ospédale avec son barrage. Le temps était frais et un peu couvert, mais les lumières très belles malgré cela.

For this 6th day, we went to the Ospédale forest. On the way, we stopped at the Ospédale Lake. The weather was a bit cool and cloudy, but in spite of that, the light was beautiful.

Nous nous sommes ensuite installées sur les rochers à côté d'un ruisseau dans la fôret d'arbres et de gros cailloux. L'idée était de faire un dessin un peu abstrait et comme je ne savais pas trop comment m'y prendre, je me suis inspirée d'un point d'eau transparent avec des cailloux dedans qui faisait déjà une image abstraite en soi.

After that, we went to the rock-and tree forest and painted nearby a little stream. The idea was to do an abstract painting and since I did not really know how to do that, I found inspiration in a little "pond" with transparent water and all kinds of stones inside that already looked kind of abstract.

Sur le chemin de retour, nous nous sommes arrêtées dans le très joli village de Lévie, où nous avons fait un déroulé continue et trouvé des ânes, pour le grand bonheur de Anne...

On the way back home, we stopped in the little town of Levie, where we did a continuous line drawing and found some donkies, subject that Anne had wanted to draw ever since she arrived in Corsica...

Croq and mob -12 croqueurs à Brocéliande / Croq and mob - 12 sketchers in the forest of Brocéliande

Pendant une semaine, un groupe de 12 croqueurs sillonne Brocéliande en mobylette pour croquer tout ce qu'ils trouvent.
On a eu la chance dimanche après-midi d'en trouver dans la forêt et dans le bourg de Paimpont (bon, en vrai, on les avait repérés sur la route et on les a suivis) ....
Merci aux dessinateurs d'avoir pris un peu de temps pour discuter et pour répondre à mes questions, j'espère pas trop indiscrètes.

During one week, 12 sketchers are driving around the Broceliande forest on mopeds and they sketch everything that catches their eyes.
We were very lucky on Sunday afternoon, to find some of them in the forest and the citycenter of Paimpont (well, to be honest, we bumped in to them on the road and then followed them to know where they went)...
Thanks to the artists for having taken some time to chat and answer my I hope not too indiscreet questions.

Aujourd'hui, Alma voulait nous amener à Roccapina sur la côte extrême sud, mais bien évidemment, il y avait plein de choses à dessiner sur la route pour y aller.

Nous avons fait un premier arrêt à Sotta, pour peindre un paysage à l'aide de papier froissé. Encore une nouvelle expérience. Je ne suis pas certaine de la renouveler, mais c'était sympa quand même.

Today, Alma wanted to take us to Roccapina on the South coast, but of course, we first had plenty of things to draw and paint on the way to there.

We had a first drawing break at Sotta to paint a mountain view with crumpled paper, which was a new experience for me. I am not sure if I will use this technique a lot, but it was good fun.

Pour la pause déjeuner/croquis, nous nous sommes arrêtées dans la baie de Figari, encore tellement différent de tout ce qu'on avait vu jusque là. Alma m'avait conseillé de faire d'abord un fond à l'aquarelle sur ma page que j'ai laissé séché et j'ai ensuite refait une aquarelle dessus. J'aime beaucoup car je trouve que cela harmonise bien la page.

For our lunch/drawing break, we stopped in Figari Bay that was again so much different from everything we saw until then. Alma had advised me to first put a watercolor layer on my pages and make another watercolor on top, once the first layer was dry. I must say that I loved doing this because I find that it harmonises the whole page.

A l'église de Figari, nous avons fait une halte pour faire de la ce que j'appelle "veggie-painting", c'est à dire faire de la peinture avec des végétaux. C'est assez étonnant, car les fleurs ne font pas forcément les couleurs qu'on voit sur elles, par ex. le coquelicot ne donne pas un rouge vif, mais un violet...

In the churchyard of Figari, we did what I call Veggie-painting, that means painting with flowers, herbs and weeds. It was quite surprising to see that the flowers do not systematically give the color that we see on them, For exemple, the poppies did not give a bright red, but a purplish color...

En début d'après-midi, nous sommes arrivées sur les hauteurs de Roccapina, avec une vue imprenable et au loin une des nombreuses tours Gênoises qu'on trouve partout en Corse et le fameux rocher en forme de lion...

We arrived at Roccapina at the beginning of the afternoon and painted the wonderful view with one of those Genovese towers and the famous rock in the shape of a lion...

Un bleu turquoise en bas nous faisait les yeux doux et nous sommes descendues voir cela de plus près, en empruntant un chemin pour lequel un 4x4 n'aurait pas été du luxe... Mais au bout on tombe sur une magnifique plage avec une belle lumière de fin de journée. Que de mieux ?

A turquoise bleu was making eyes at us and so we went down to the beach using a deeply rutted path for which a jeep would have been welcome. But what a beautiful place again and the end of the afternoon light was wonderful. What more would you ask for ?
